Product Description At this defining moment in our history, Americans are hungry for change. After years of failed policies and failed politics from Washington, this is our chance to reclaim the American dream. Barack Obama has proven to be a new kind of leader–one who can bring people together, be honest about the challenges we face, and move this nation forward. Change We Can Believe In outlines his vision for America. In these pages you will find bold and specific ideas about how to fix our ailing economy and strengthen the middle class, make health care affordable for all, achieve energy independence, and keep America safe in a dangerous world. Change We Can Believe In asks you not just to believe in Barack Obama’s ability to bring change to Washington, it asks you to believe in yours.

Change That Defies All Imagination December 25, 2008 Brian Wright (Merrimack, NH USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
You'll also notice that a majority of the specific proposals in the book carry a price tag, as the book takes the approach, "Let's set the sea on fire, y'all work out the details." I'm not even sure an omnipotent deity could accomplish a quarter of what the Obamanon advocates. What's that other saying, "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride." And the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, too. The point is unless Obama is stopped by his oh-so-sincere pledge to not spend money he doesn't have, he's either going to tax us into beggardom or, more likely, adopt the time-tested Republican practice and borrow us into oblivion. You have to wonder whether the young idealistic Obama, paying such close attention in his civics classes--and in his lessons on Constitutional law (which he supposedly taught by the way)--was ever exposed to the thoughtful individualism of Emerson and Thoreau. The pertinent quote I have in mind from the great Henry David is: "The only way government ever aided any enterprise is in the alacrity with which it got out of the way." Great Book On Barack Obama December 23, 2008 Francina G. Still 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My Mother is a great admirer of Pres-Elected Obama and since I had gotten her his other books I went ahead and purchased this one for her. She found the reading engaging, encouraging and uplifting. So if she is pleased with it I know it is an excellent read as she is very selective about any book she reads!

Finally, a president with both character and a functioning brain! This man can not only think and plan, but he has the rare ability to express what he's thinking and planning in language a wide spectrum of readers can understand.
