5 out of 5 stars Great for a textbook   November 3, 2008
WillyVonThrillerson (CLT)
This book is by far the best textbook that I have had to read. The material is presented in real case studies so it reads more like a story than its more cut-and-dry counterparts.

5 out of 5 stars great guide book   April 30, 2008
Andrew Domino (Seattle, WA United States)
Best to read this one after Intro to Microeconomics or in a class where the instructor can set aside a little time to explain concepts like elasticity, dead weight loss, supply/demand curves and externalities. Really great examples of economic concepts that are applicable today. This would be a great book for a 12th grade class or to compliment a microeconomics text in college.

4 out of 5 stars Economics for Graph-o-Phobics   November 8, 2007

I used this book with a class of gifted high school seniors. It's absolutely perfect when you want to THINK like an economist, but not graph like one or plug into equations like one. Chapters cover very current and intersting issues, guaranteed to appeal to high school and college students and to stimulate discussion. Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Ships well, decent book   January 17, 2007
Jaclyn James (Clemson, South Carolina)
Ships well. For a college class assignment, it wasn't bad. It just gives examples of economic problems and has end of section questions that require thinking (more of an opinion answer really). I wouldn't just read it for pleasure, but it's not bad for an econ book.
