Wonderful World of Webkinz October 15, 2008 K. Kirkpatrick (Granger, IN) This book has some great ideas and worksheets to use. We are teaching an after school program to 25 kids and are using a lot of ideas from the book. It's great how the author takes something fun, that kids can relate to, and uses it for learning purposes. The best part is that they won't even know that they are learning because they will be having too much fun.
Great Teaching Resource August 7, 2008 Techno Teacher (MI) This book is a great resource for educators in a variety of settings...classrooms, clubs, and after-school programs. Why not tap into the enthusiasm kids have for their Webkinz and make the experience educational? I own the first book (Using Webkinz in the Classroom: Turning Toys Into Tools: Teaching with Technology) and love it. Hands-On Learning with Webkinz is a great sequel with more activities than you can imagine. I would recommend purchasing both books so you can choose the activities that best meet the needs of the children you are working with.
A Wonderful New Teacher Resource! August 5, 2008 R. F. Moore (Rochester, MI USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
With the school year fast approaching, THIS teacher is looking for some new technology-related resources for his young students. Considering the rising popularity of Webkinz, lessons and activities relating directly to these fuzzy collectables will engage my students! I can recommend this book as a curriculum resource guide no classroom teacher will want to be without. It's both educator and kid friendly. Order a copy today! While you're at it, why don't you order one for your staff resource library and another for a teaching partner?
