Great overview of Information Marketing and its benefits November 24, 2008 Leslie G. Truex (Palmyra, VA United States) When this book was released, it was the only traditionally published book that covered information products. Still, even with several new books out, this one offers a good basic primer on information marketing. Some have criticized the book for including traditional and hard copy content creation, but in fact those were the original information products (the booklets bought through mail order or the "course" bought through infomercials). The Internet has made it faster, cheaper and easier to create and sell digital products and Stephanie does include information on how to do this (ebooks, teleseminars, etc). I think it is helpful that she includes the hard copy versions as well as offline marketing information in the book. It makes the book more complete and show just how vast the information marketing business can be. The book also highlights how these products can be used to help you build a platform, show your expertise and expand an existing business.
Opened my eyes to the possibilities of online sales October 30, 2008 Joanna Penn (Brisbane, Australia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I didn't no much about online sales before I read this book. I was so surprised by many of the ways people are making money online, and now I am trying to emulate them and do it myself. Some things you might not know! - One lady sells tips booklets online and makes an extraordinary amount of money. These are not even original tips, but she on-sells them and they are only a few dollars so you end up buying a few. Great idea - use it in your website. - If you have a book, make it an e-book, then split it into chapters and sell as cheaper products. Includes ideas for multiple ways to use your own content. - Referred me to "The Publicity Hound" whose e-zine I love and is full of useful information for marketing and publicity Recommended if you have just started with online business.
Great Ideas September 22, 2008 Author of Top Self Publishing Firms (Seattle, WA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you are a writer, or aspire to be one, this book can give you a wider perspective on the possibilities you can create for yourself as an author. The main idea the book presents is to expand your offerings beyond your book and create other related products that you can sell alongside your book. Examples include seminars, pamphlets, online classes, and coaching. This book is a good resource when you need to stimulate your mind for fresh ideas on growing your writing into a bigger business. Having a Book Can Contribute September 1, 2008 Ken Lizotte (www.thoughtleading.com) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Every entrepreneur should know how having a book can contribute to credibility, visibility, personal expertise and, uh, the bottom line. For an expansion of concepts found in my own book, "The Expert's Edge," get and read this book too!
This book promises...and delivers! July 23, 2008 Corey Perlman (Troy, MI) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Stephanie Chandler's attention to detail and extensive research clearly paid off in this value-packed resource for anyone looking to provide information on the Internet. The book takes you through a step-by-step process from determining the subjects to write about to online placement that will give you the biggest bang for your buck. She provides a great variety of resources to help anyone get started; no matter their expertise or experience. I highly recommend this book to the Internet newbie or the experienced techie - either way, you'll be thankful you read this book. Corey Perlman www.theebootcamp.com
