Product Description
Metrics-based Process Mapping (MBPM) is a process-design methodology that combines the cross-functional aspects of traditional swim-lane process maps with the key time and quality metrics incorporated within Value Stream Maps. Especially effective for analyzing and designing office, service, and technical processes, this CD contains an Excel-based tool to electronically archive and distribute current and future state MBPMs that have been created manually in a cross-functional team setting. The tool includes a custom toolbar to ease the mapping process and an auto-calculation feature that compares current and future state process performance metrics.

The mapping tool created by Martin and Osterling is a great addition to any lean or process improvement event. The mapping tool integrates lean metrics into a swim-lane style process map. The tool is very easy to use and enables teams to make effective decisions. It is also very useful in simulating how an improvement will impact process performance or staffing requirements. Would highly recommend this to any individual or company that is undertaking lean or process improvement.
