5 out of 5 stars Extremely helpful!   October 19, 2007

We had two quizzes on future interests in my Property class. The first one was a "practice" quiz, and was held 3 weeks before the actual quiz. My score on the practice quiz was a pathetic 41% (7 out of 17). Needless to say, I was none too pleased with this score, so I sought out study aids to help me improve. I had some of the "Law in a Flash" sets for other classes, and had been happy with them, so I was excited to see they offered flashcards for the topic of future interests.

By the time I ordered them, and they arrived at my house, there was less than 1 week until the "real" quiz. I worked with the cards each day up until quiz day, and not surprisingly, I was very confident during the quiz. There were 35 questions total, and I only missed ONE for a score of 97%!

Each individual type of future interest, conceptually, is not very difficult to understand. However, it is very easy to get them mixed up in the more complicated, detailed scenarios/fact patterns. This product was invaluable in my mastery of future interests. To me, future interest "problems" are similar to mathematical problems. The more practice you have with a particular type of problem, the more automatic that type of calculation becomes.

My Property book has a few problems listed in the "Notes" section; however, they are few in number, and there are (of course) no answers! This product, however, contains numerous cards (organized by type) for each of future interest. The cards contain varying levels of difficulty, ranging from simple to complicated. The explanation on the back of each card is very detailed, and easy to understand. Many of them not only contain the answer, but also have what the answer(s) would be if various facts in the question were altered.

If you are struggling with future interests, or if you just want to further your grasp on the various concepts, you definitely need to order these cards. They made all the difference for me, and I highly recommend them!

5 out of 5 stars An excellent way to reinforce concepts   June 13, 2007

These cards are for any law student interested in reinforcing the basic concepts of future interests. Unfortunately, most textbooks on future interests do not provide a way for students to test their knowledge. These cards are a perfect way to do so by providing excellent examples of issues common to the study of future interests. The cards cover all the subjects (e.g., formation of estates, doctrines, and even the dreaded Rule Against Perpetuities). The concepts are made clear and the answers are concise. I highly recommend these cards.
