Product Description Women's recovery can differ from men's, and each person's recovery is in many ways unique. That's why Stephanie Covington has designed this workbook to help a woman find her own path-and find it in terms especially suited to the way women experience not just addiction and recovery but also relationships, self, sexuality, and everyday life. Deepening and extending the lessons of a book that has helped countless women, this workbook makes A Woman's Way Through the Twelve Steps that much more measured, meaningful, and clear. Unlike many "rewritten" Twelve Step interpretations for women, this guide works with the original Step language, preserving its spirit and focusing attention on its healing message. In sections devoted to each of the Twelve Steps, Covington blends narrative, self-assessment questions focused on a feminine definition of terms such as "powerlessness" and "letting go," guided imagery exercises, and physical activities. Designed to be used in conjunction with A Woman's Way Through the Twelve Steps, this workbook helps deepen and extend understanding of the lessons taught there and further empowers each woman to take ownership of her recovery process as well as her growth as a woman. A clinician and past consultant at the Betty Ford Center, Stephanie S. Covington, Ph.D., L.C.S.W., is the author of A Woman's Way Through the Twelve Steps, Leaving the Enchanted Forest: The Path from Relationship Addiction to Intimacy, and Awakening Your Sexuality: A Guide for Recovering Women.

A Woman's Way through the 12 steps November 16, 2008 Honey Bunny (Ann Arbor, Mich.) Thank goodness for a book written for women in the program. Don't get me wrong but the Big Book was written with men in mind. This has been one of the best tools in my program for understanding the steps in a gentl and softer way.
Recover Workbook September 10, 2008 B. Butler (Marietta, GA) This workbook is FABULOUS!!! You don't even need the companion book, you can simply use it in conjunction with the AA approved Twelve and Twelve. I would DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this workbook!
Not acceptable July 8, 2008 Cindy N (Michigan) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
The book I ordered was listed as "Used - Good Condition". The book I received was a different version (not the one pictured on the website), dirty, heavily highlighted and written in. I would not trust this vendor, GreatBuyBooks, again.
Excellent response. May 27, 2008 Janet Volkert (Georgia) The book arrived quicker than I thought, it was in excellent condition. Will buy from this seller again.
Not Ready Yet May 11, 2008 L. McGrew (Richmond, VA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is for alcoholic women who have not surrendered to the God of their understanding. The book holds out that women are "terminally unique" and can't really be helped by the big book of AA which was created by all men. The bottom line is that women are not terminally unique and the big book of AA is the only way to get sober. So, don't order this book, get the big book!
