Street Fighter Fans must own this December 28, 2008 Gaijin (Hilo, HI United States) Of all the art books and Street Fighter Strategy guides over the years filled with artwork, this one is the most unique. It could pass as a nice coffee table book for those who grew up with the now legendary and respected arcade video game series Street Fighter. Filled to the brim with amazing and unusual artwork from various people, who all have their own separate and unique ideas on the world warriors and crew along with personal anecdotes about the various games. No doubt this book will shoot up in popularity once SF IV is released for the home consoles in February 2009, now is the time to get it before it is either out of print or beyond the reach in price of most people. I am certainly glad I purchased a copy now. Anyone who has enjoyed any of the Street Fighter games will enjoy this tribute to the ultimate fighting game that has outlasted all challengers in popularity and style. Happy Tribute Street Fighter.
SIMPLY UDON November 28, 2008 E. Shacklady (BLACKPOOL ENGLAND) SIMPLY SOME EXELLENT ART WORK FROM UDON ,GREAT BUY FOR ART FANS AND STREET FIGHTER FANATICS
Amazing variety of style should appeal to all November 15, 2008 Parka (Singapore) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1RFXHAE2PQ5KS This book is actually much better than I thought. Probably because I'm looking at them in full size instead of the small web images I found on the Internet. It has a very satisfying thickness at 320 pages. The dust jacket is smooth, nice to touch, non-glossy over a soft cover. The paper stock is thick matte and the colour reproduction is wonderful. Hundreds of artists have come together to contribute Street Fighter art for the book. As a result, the variety in terms of style is amazing. Some of the styles included are manga, realistic caricature, chibi, game art, vector and many other. I've read of artists who blogged about their work being rejected. I can understand why because the quality of artwork in this book is very high. UDON has also allowed artists to promote their work on their individual blogs. Over the past few months, I've seen a lot of artists blogging about their art and the book. It's really great to finally see the book in print. This art book belongs to the you-can-enjoy-it-even-if-you're-not-a-Street-Fighter-fan category. It's well worth every single cent I spent, and I'm not a Street Fighter fan. There are more pictures of the book on my blog. Just visit my Amazon profile for the link.
This book is visual candy and has art that everyone can enjoy October 24, 2008 Steven A. Smith 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm a Street Fighter nut, and I love what UDON has done with the property. I've bought their other Street Fighter books so this was a no-brainer for me. But I was pleasantly surprised to find myself REALLY enjoying this book. The art in this collection is from professionals and fans alike. Variation is the name of the game. Every art style imaginable is present here. And even the most obscure characters are represented, and the obscure characters are my favorites so I very much appreciated that. People who don't even know Street Fighter can't seem to put this book down. As for the book itself, it is as high quality as high quality can be. Nice, thick paper. Strong binding. A great slipcover(featuring amazing cover art to boot). Bottom line: If you're a Street Fighter fan, buy this. If you're a fan of art, buy this. If you're neither, what the hell are you doing reading this review?
Breath taking art for a classic game. October 24, 2008 Yamil Narvaez (Florida, USA) I've only looked at half of the book and it's already worth the price of admission. If you were ever a fan of the games, you need to buy this book. A lot of great art ranging the ultra realistic to ultra cute. They have got a wide range of styles and all the characters get their just dues. Just buy the book!
