Feel the Fear - just the start October 3, 2008 Paula Helgerson (Minneapolis, MN, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The audio version of Feel The Fear and Do it Anyway is a wonderful way to really digest the material in this book. You can have it playing in the background during your day. You can listen to in the car- traveling in city traffic it's easy to listen to one complete CD at a time. Awesome material. Everyone should read/listen to this at least once.
Fabulous experience! April 8, 2008 Suzann P. Rowe (Long Beach, CA USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is a must for anyone that has experienced anxiety, panic attacks or the negative stress caused by fear. Dr. Jeffers keeps everything simple, compassionate, and motivating. Not an overload of psycho-babble. I have been listening to the CD's on the way to and from work. It is relaxing and keeps me motivated through the day. From the very first listening I started becoming aware of my fear-based behavior and have already made phone calls that I have been putting off, started a new exercise class, and am gaining a new confidence in "Feeling the fear and doing it anyway!" It is amazing! I have purchased the paperback book to complement the discs. Dr. Jeffers actually is reading the book on the compact discs...so having both allow me to have the option of choosing one or the other wherever I am. The simplicity of Dr. Jeffers format is the best I have ever used. I have bought copies for two friends and my sister. Actually, all of us, at one time or another, are fearful of moving out of our "comfort zone" to grow. We do not grow without moving into areas that illicit some fear. Hope you will give this book or set of CD's a try. It is well worth the time and purchase price.
Excellent advice for freeing your mind from fear and judgements. October 22, 2007 Ericka L. Salerno (Littleton, CO) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I prefer the CD's. I do't always have time to sit down and read a book. The CD's allow me to get the whole book done in a matter of hours, rather than weeks, and I can listen to them at home , in the car, traveling, or doing house work. The mental exercises she suggests in her book are much easier to repeat with the CD's. I find that it is necessary to repeat sections of the CD's to help reinforce the positive changes I want to make in my life. Negative thinking and fear are very powerful habits and the verbal abuse we get from others (or ourselves) is not easily removed from our minds, but Susan Jeffer's has the advice to make it possible to reprogram our thinking with positive language and thoughts. When I need extra support to get through some difficult negative beliefs or fear, I listen to certain sections of the CD's again and again to reinforce the positive thinking and programming that she teaches. Her lessons and advice are helping me find more freedom and happiness within myself and I am changing my life for the better. I would recommend her book and the CD's to anyone who wants to stop negative thinking and fear from controlling their life choices.
Very informative book August 23, 2007 Casey Simmons (Los Angeles, CA) 9 out of 12 found this review helpful
I think this was a good book overall, but I wish I actually purchased the book instead of the CD's. The material is great, but it was hard for me to stay focused while the CD's were playing in my car. I'm now encouraged to look for a class offered by Susan Jeffers.
