| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Since the initial publication of this breakthrough work, motivational interviewing (MI) has been used by countless clinicians. Theory and methods have evolved apace, reflecting new knowledge on the process of behavior change, a growing body of outcome research, and the development of new applications within and beyond the addictions field. Extensively rewritten, this revised and expanded second edition now brings MI practitioners and trainees fully up to date. William R. Miller and Stephen Rollnick explain how to work through ambivalence to facilitate change, present detailed guidelines for using their approach, and reflect on the process of learning MI. Chapters contributed by other leading experts then address such special topics as MI and the stages-of-change model, applications in medical, public health, and criminal justice settings, and using the approach with groups, couples, and adolescents.

Industry standard, so to speak January 6, 2009 R. Gab (USA) I had to read it for a class, and initially just checked it out from the library, but it was a decent book, and apparently it's well known in the counseling world, so I bought it.

This book is very interesting and I like that Prochaska and DiClemente stages of change in outlined in detail. This is a must have book for future counselors.
Motivated July 9, 2008 Read Right The book is written by academics for academics, but I think it is well written for the layperson who is interested in the topic. This is a good book for anyone who is interested in methods for changing behavior.
comprehensive March 30, 2008 Jean Boutiere Addiction is a difficult and time-consuming health problem. Evidence-based practice is always useful. Jean Boutiere
